2011 Skate Deck Art Show Recap

On May 12, 2011, at the Lowbrow Palace, the 4th Annual Skate Deck Art Show went down in the record books as a complete success! This Deck Art Show has been the most successful yet, raising over $4,000 dollars towards the development and stewardship of freely accessible skateparks in the El Paso area. The El Paso Skatepark Association(EPSA) has raised a significant amount of money to help maintain and develop the parks of the area, and has played a key roll in helping the City of El Paso move towards affordable, long-lasting, concrete parks, as compared to pre-fabricated, or modular parks.  Thanks to the EPSA, High Ridge Skatepark is a concrete park, not a flat concrete pad with pre-fabricated ramps placed on it. For more information on Pre-Fabricated vs. Concrete, visit Skaters for Public Skateparks. The EPSA has also helped to pass projects such as the "Edgemont Ditch" in Santa Teresa, NM, and the "Carolina Skatepark Clean-Up".  A big thanks to Paul Zimmerman, Bill Robertson, and Jaime Favela! These dudes really are the heart of the EPSA! Without them, none of this would be possible! Check out out pictures of this years decks and supporters! Thanks to everyone who came!

There may still be decks left! If you see a deck, and you are interested in purchasing it, visit the El Paso Skatepark Association WEBSITE or FACEBOOK
Its all about that concrete! Pre-fabricated ramps are overpriced, they rust, they break, and they are impossible to repair. Do your city a favor and stick to concrete skateparks!
