Juarez, MX: When Will the Violence Stop?

It was only a few years ago that Juarez, Mexico, was a lively, fun place to visit. The city used to have a live music scene that was phenomenal.  Artists such as MSTRKRFT, the Rapture, and Boyz Noise have all played in Juarez. It is sad that in only a few years, this city has been transformed into a war zone, with thousands of people dead.

There are many spots in Mexico that used to attract American tourism. Unfortunately, many people avoid going to Juarez completely, due to the increasing violence!  It is not recommended to even visit Juarez in the daytime! The city has been deemed as the "most dangerous city in the world"!  People die every few days in Juarez. How did this happen? When will it end? How have so many people been murdered, so quickly?

There was a time, not that long ago, that high school students used to party in Juarez.  Bars and clubs such as Reno's, Tequila Derby, Shooters, the Underground, the Cave, Old Fred's, and Kentucky Club, used to be main spots you would find people having a good time. Students from New Mexico State University used to travel fourty miles from Las Cruces, New Mexico, to party in Juarez on Thursday nights. The mercado was a great place to go in "J-Town". Every time you went to the mercado, you would find something awesome to take home at a great price.  This is a crucial part of Juarez that needs to be resurrected throughout the city!

However, many people in Juarez have resorted to drug trafficking and the violence has become worse and worse. Beheadings and mutilations have become a common thing. The violence between the warring drug cartels has caused an estimated eight-thousand deaths.

Juarez is El Paso's sister. Juarez needs help! The violence needs to stop!

America, we need to help! This drug war, and these murders cannot keep going!
